Kwajongilanga Agroecology Research Centre

Who we are
The Kwajongilanga Agroecology Research Centre is about ecosystem regeneration, community engagement/empowerment, food and water security.
The research center is part of the vision Chloe Menteath and Stephen Murcott have of working with nature to enable people to grow food using low input, organic methods that can help create abundance, restoring ecosystems and providing employment.
Activities
We are investigating ways to mitigate and remediate the impacts of climate change and land degredation through ecosystem regeneration and community engagement. We are healing the water cycle through earthworks and nursery for plants. Establishing a laboratory for academia, social and conservation research, as well as crop science and outreach education. Using techniques from permaculture, syntropic farming, agroecology. agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, regenerative grazing, ecological design.
Establishing an indigenous tree nursery with a mushroom growing facility, worm and isopod farms and syn-tropic food systems.
Goals
We would like to see the research create regenerative food system jobs and become a center for education around poison free food for the local people.
Here, you'll find insights into agroecology principles, the wonders of soil life, the role of fungi, and the integration of livestock like chickens and ducks into a diverse food-growing system. Join us as we share our progress, challenges, and the beauty of fostering a thriving natural environment.
